JOIN OTHER ACTIVISTS FOR A REAL HOMEGROWN BARBEQUE-ABSENT THE ANTIBIOTICS -
TUESDAY, JULY 2
Come celebrate the kickoff of the Sierra Club's Antibiotics in Agriculture
campaign at the Antibiotic Free Barbeque this Tuesday. The excessive use of
antibiotics by corporate agriculture is contributing to antibiotic resistant
bacteria and making effective human antibiotics less effective. Join an
effort to demand that grocers provide consumers with meat and poultry raised
without antibiotics and help support local, responsible, sustainable family
farmers - who raise animals without the use of OUR medicines. Learn where
you can go to buy this meat and poultry in the Twin Cities. Keep our
antibiotics working for our families for our future.

WANT TO SHOW OFF YOUR PRIUS, INSIGHT, CIVIC HYBRID AND HELP FIGHT GLOBAL
WARMING?
The Sierra Club has organized a 4 day Road Rally to Fight Global Warming
through Greater Minnesota to demonstrate a common sense way to address
climate change and to tell Detroit that we want more fuel efficient cars.
The Rally will visit 16 Minnesota cities, so come and learn how we all can
increase gasoline consumption and save money. If you own a hybrid electric,
join the Sierra Club's rally for a leg of the tour, an entire day, or the
entire 4 days. The Rally will be kicked-off in St. Paul with National Sierra
Club President Jennifer Ferenstein at 11:15 a.m. on July 11 and at 10:00
a.m.on July 12. For a complete schedule visit:

COAL 101: WHEN YOUR NEIGHBOR IS A COAL PLANT - JULY 9
Join other interested citizens in the Stillwater area to learn about coal
pollution and the current proposal by Xcel Energy to repower coal plants in
St. Paul and Minneapolis and reduce some emissions at the Allen S. King
plant in Oak Park Heights. Discuss ways citizens can add their input, voice
concerns or support the current proposal to clean up coal pollution in
Minnesota. For more information, contact Michelle Rosier at 612-379-3853 or

DROUGHTS CAUSE FIRES AND FIERY DEBATE ABOUT NATIONAL FORESTS
This summer, National Forests are in the news and under fire. The
wildfires
burning in Arizona and Colorado have focused national attention on forest
policy and erupted in a great deal of finger pointing. At the same time,
President Bush has backtracked on protections we secured for Roadless Areas,
which cover over 61,000 acres in Minnesota. On top of that, we're
continuing to influence forest plans on Chippewa and Superior National
Forest. For information on the Forest Service mismanagement that has led to
the current forest fires go to:

IT'S BAAACK
Update yourself on the same old, bad solution..the proposed four-lane,
freeway-style bridge over the St. Croix just south of downtown Stillwater.
