TELL THE PUC YOU DON'T WANT A LUMP OF COAL FOR THE HOLIDAYS - SUPPORT THE
METRO DIRTY COAL PLANT CLEAN UP
Send a letter to the Public Utilities Commission in support of Xcel Energy's
Metro Emissions Reduction Plan (MERP) with Sierra Club's suggested
improvements. Xcel Energy's plan is the largest voluntary clean up of coal
plants in the nation; however, to make it a reality and true environmental
win we need a strong showing of public support to the Public Utilities
Commission. To personalize and print out the PUC letter to send, visit:

WHAT'S FOR DINNER - TURKEY, POTATOES, AND ANTIBIOTICS RESISTANT BACTERIA
Every year some 16 million pounds of antibiotics are fed to healthy animals
by industrial agriculture. The Sierra Club and the Institute for Agriculture
and Trade Policy (IATP) have issued the first report to examine the presence
of antibiotic-resistant bacteria in brand-name poultry products. The report
finds that many consumers are ingesting bacteria resistant to important
human antibiotics like ciprofloxacin (Cipro), Synercid, and tetracycline.
