NATIONAL FOREST COMMENT PERIOD EXTENDED SEPT 11 NEW DEADLINE!

You may have recently received a letter from Sierra Club asking you to write the US Forest Service with comments about the National Forest plans. The comment period for public comments has been extended one month, until September 11. There's still time to write comments protecting our forests and supporting our plan, 'Alternative D'! Please send a letter to the Forest Service, showing that you care about Superior and Chippewa National Forests. Sample comments, research, and an e-mail comment form are on our website: http://northstar.sierraclub.org/campaigns/forests/index.html.

THIS SUMMER'S HOTTEST RELEASE: CRITICAL PUBLIC HEARINGS ON COAL PLAN CLEAN UP ANNOUNCED

Nearly two years in the making, Xcel Energy's voluntary Metro Emissions Reduction Project has the makings of being a real winner, but the decision-makers need to hear from you! The Public Utilities Commission has granted our request for public hearings, and now it is up to citizens, like you, to attend a hearing near you and voice your support for cleaning up the coal plants. For more information http://northstar.sierraclub.org/campaigns/air/coal/MERPhearings.html or ask for Michelle Rosier at 612-659-9124, Michelle.Rosier@sierraclub.org.
