St. Croix Valley Group Meeting
February 26, 2008, 7:00pm
Community Room of the Hudson, Wisconsin Administrative Building
This month's meeting of the St. Croix Valley Group of the Sierra Club will feature the newly released film entitled The St. Croix: A Northwoods Journey. Filmed throughout the seasons, and narrated by nationally acclaimed artist Peter Thomas, this 18 minute film merges moving currents, wildlife and history with the voices of those who are inspired by the beauty and solitude of 227 miles of the Namekagon and St. Croix Rivers. This year St. Croix National Scenic Riverway celebrates 40 years as one of the original waterways designated in the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act of 1968. In addition to the film, Dale Cox from the National Park Service will talk about the implementation plan for the new camping regulations on the lower St. Croix River.
The meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 26 at 7:00pm at the Community Room on the second floor of the Hudson, Wisconsin Administrative Building (site of the Hudson library). The Hudson library is located at 911 4th Street in Hudson. The meeting is open to the public so feel free to bring friends. For more information, contact Jim at 651 436-1965.
