The Future of Minnesota Forests
Saturday April 5th, 9:00 am to 12:00 (or longer with lively discussion!)
Location: Sierra Club Office - 2327 Franklin Ave Suite 1, Minneapolis, 55414
Climate change will bring higher temperatures, more frequent droughts, and more storms and fires. In addition to the direct impacts these will have, invasive species such as emerald ash borer, European earthworms, buckthorn and garlic mustard, as well as high deer populations will prevent reproduction of many tree species and transform Minnesota forests over the next century. Global warming and invasive species are coming at the same time and will enhance each other's impacts on the forest.
Come hear about the implications, impacts, and a lively discussion for action oriented solutions for the future of our forests in Minnesota.
