Clean Air and Renewable Energy

- Communicate information and action to citizens on the urgent issue of global warming
- Attend Minnesota Climate Change Advisory Group meetings and their Technical Working Group meetings
- Come to a Cool Cities event near you.
- Sign up for regular email updates about Global Warming facts, breaking news and actions you can take to slow and reverse global warming
- Curbing the "Midwest Coal Rush" — for example, stopping the proposed expansion of the enormous Big Stone II power plant
- Achieving policy that requires more of our energy to be from renewable sources like wind power (pdf).
- Encouraging action on global warming through individual energy conservation, as well as citywide efforts for energy efficiency.
We do this through many different activities. A few of them are:
- Collecting petitions and letters to decision-makers
- Organizing outreach and educational events and forums — check out our “Walk for Wind” blogs!
- Engaging the public through attending hearings and other public meetings with decision-makers
- Working with the media to bring visibility to our issues
