Sierra Club's new campaign to identify and protect special places in Minnesota's forests
What's a special place?
Volunteers consider many criteria to identify the "best of what's left" in Minnesota's forests. They research the biology and wildlife, talk with members and managers familiar with the place, and explore it to get a sense of the place and to look for winning or losing characteristics. They also learn about management decisions that might impact the place, such as logging or ATV trail plans.
