Teck Cominco
This mine would be east of Babbitt. PolyMet beat Teck Cominco out for their preferred processing site, so this project seems to be on hold. The company had a very active public relations campaign to garner local support. This company has deep pockets and could fund the mine without taking in partners. The project has also been known as the Mesaba and Minnamax project. The company is building a production scale processing plant in Brazil using its CESL processing that it may try to get permitted in Minnesota.
