What is the Tour de Sprawl?
The Tour de Sprawl is a bike ride like no other...
The Sierra Club's eighth annual Tour de Sprawl combines a scenic bike ride with seven educational stops. Take the afternoon of Sunday, September 28th to enjoy a leisurely ride while exploring first hand how suburban development is changing the face of the Twin Cities.
Join us as we discover Anoka County and the communities of Fridley, Coon Rapids and Anoka. We'll begin at noon in Fridley with a rally to help save the magnificent Springbrook Nature Center. Our ride will take us through the heart of Coon Rapids and Anoka and end with a community gathering at the confluence of the scenic Rum and Mississippi rivers in Anoka. Along the way, we'll visit beautiful and endangered open spaces and see some of the best community development projects in Minnesota.
Just as important, you'll get a chance to enjoy a serene, leisurely bike ride along the banks of the Mississippi river as our Minnesota summer comes to a close. The Tour de Sprawl truly is a ride like no other...
We hope to see you at our kick-off rally beginning at noon on Sunday, September 28th at The Springbrook Nature Center in Fridley, MN.
