Help Elect Sierra Club Endorsed Candidates for Park Board

Together, we have an opportunity to elect a Park Board where:

  • environmental stewardship is a top priority;
  • decisions are made with an eye to the best possible future of our parks and neighborhoods;
  • government is a model for sustainability; and
  • community participation is highly valued and encouraged.

Minneapolis will be using Ranked Choice Voting (also known as Instant Runoff Voting) for the first time this election. Make Sierra Club endorsed candidates your top choices this year.

We've endorsed one candidate for each Park Board District and two candidates for Park Board At Large (citywide).

A Word about our Endorsements

Sierra Club endorsements are non-partisan and follow a two-committee process. The Minneapolis Political Committee evaluates candidates and makes endorsement recommendations to the Executive Committee, the elected governing body of the North Star (Minnesota) Chapter of Sierra Club, who has final authority over endorsement decisions.

The Sierra Club North Star Chapter produces a scorecard each legislative biennium to provide our members and supporters with information on what Minnesota's legislature is doing regarding key environmental issues. The Scorecard scores legislators on key votes and provides a summary of the important environmental votes happening at the Legislature. Take a look at the 2007-2008 Legislative Scorecard (pdf).
